What is Sculptra®?
Sculptra is an injectable biostimulator made of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) that works to address the underlying cause of aging skin. Sculptra is unique in that it helps restore lost volume by stimulating your natural collagen production, which helps the skin naturally renew itself. By stimulating collagen creation within and underneath your skin and fat pads, it acts as a seed to regrow what’s been lost. It can also help to restore areas of bone retraction acting to rebuild the lost infrastructure that results from these aging processes. Results develop gradually over a few months, look completely natural, and last much longer than most other injectables.

What results can I expect from Sculptra®?
Results from Sculptra are often noticeable immediately, but they are temporary for the first 24 hours after the injections. Although the immediate results will fade, as the body produces new collagen, patients will have visible, long-lasting results within 2 to 3 months that will continue to improve steadily within the first 10-12 months.
The number of Sculptra treatments you need for optimal results will depend on your skin concerns and goals. Most patients achieve significant improvement after 3 treatment sessions spaced several weeks apart from one another.
The length of the results can vary from patient to patient, but studies have shown they can often last for up to 2 - 5 years from the first treatment.
What is it like to get a Sculptra® treatment?
Prior to your Sculptra treatment, the treatment area will be cleaned with an antiseptic skin cleaner before a very thin needle is used to inject a precise amount of product strategically into the deeper layers of the skin. To reduce discomfort, numbing agents may be applied to the treatment area. The treatment typically takes about 30 to 45 minutes. Some patients may also experience swelling, redness, bruising, or tenderness at the injection sites. These effects are temporary and typically subside within a few days.
