What is Restylane® Silk?
Restylane Silk is a dermal filler specifically designed to improve the appearance of lips and the vertical lines that can accumulate in the mouth area. Restylane Silk is made up of hyaluronic acid (HA), which is a natural substance in the body that gives our skin volume, elasticity and moisture to achieve a more youthful appearance. As a HA dermal filler especially designed for lips, Restylane® Silk is comprised of smaller, smoother hyaluronic acid particles than other Restylane products. These small HA particles are what give skin its smoother texture. Restylane Silk’s innovative composition reduces wrinkles around the mouth and gives lips added volume that is subtle and natural looking.

What results can I expect from Restylane® Silk?
Results from Restylane Silk are noticeable immediately. Your lips will appear plumper and smoother, while lip wrinkles and lines will be noticeably reduced. The full and results typically become more pronounced within a few days to a couple of weeks as any initial swelling subsides. This means that you can enjoy the rejuvenating effects of Restylane Silk shortly after your treatment.
The number of Restylane Silk treatments required will depend on your goals and the extent of correction needed. Many patients achieve satisfying results with just one treatment session, while others may opt for additional sessions for more pronounced effects.
Restylane Silk typically lasts for up to 6 months, depending on individual responses. Patients are able to maintain their desired results by undergoing periodic touch-up treatments.
What is it like to get a Restylane® Silk treatment?
Prior to your Restylane Silk treatment, the treatment area will be cleaned with an antiseptic skin cleaner before an ultra-fine needle is used to inject a precise amount of product strategically into the targeted areas. After the injection, a gentle massage is performed on the treated areas to ensure even distribution of the product. To reduce discomfort, a topical numbing agent may be applied to the treatment area. However, since Restylane Silk contains lidocaine, you’ll experience minimal discomfort during treatment. The treatment typically takes about 30 to 45 minutes depending on the area being treated. Some patients may experience swelling, redness, tenderness or bruising at the injection sites, but these effects are temporary and typically subside within a few weeks.
