During his birth month, we remember and celebrate all of the contributions he made to positively impact his family and the Tampa Bay community. A Message From Dr. Garcia’s Family

Dear Patients,

We can hardly believe it has been almost a year since our father crossed over. An unexpected loss that we will undoubtedly grapple with for the rest of our lives. Around every corner we have tried to honor him and continue on in ways we hope would make him proud. It’s almost impossible to fill the shoes of such a wonderful man, and there was no one that was deeply connected to him that would even try. All we could do was promise him that we would continue to care for the things that meant most to him.

In the last few days of his life, it was very clear what meant the most to our Dad. None of it came as a surprise. Our mother and the two of us knew the depths of his devotion. So did his family and friends. But perhaps we never were able to convey just how much you all meant to him. It didn’t surprise us to know that his patients would be included as some of the most meaningful parts of his life, and he rested easy knowing he had put in place the sturdy leadership and support to continue in his absence. He knew you all would be cared for as he would have hoped, but he would also want you to know of his deep gratitude for the opportunity to be a part of your lives in such an important way.

This practice, this mission, to bring wellness and a more healthy life to every person who walked through his door was fueled by the heart of a healer and by someone who genuinely wanted good things for people. Because of your commitment, we have been able to keep our father’s dream alive. We thank you for being such an important part of honoring his legacy, especially in such uncertain times.

As we approach a year since our father’s passing we look back on all that we have endured knowing that because of his love, we had the strength to find our way. Under his watchful eye and healing hands, we look forward to the future as we are committed to our promise to continue to care for all of you … the patients who meant so much to him.

Dr. Garcia was a board-certified physician who practiced in the Tampa Bay area for more than 30 years. He opened four Garcia Weight Loss locations during his life and made delivering high-quality patient care his top priority. Dr. Garcia’s most notable accomplishments:

• Trained over 60 weight-loss physicians nationwide who have helped patients lose over a million pounds combined
• Provided consulting support to physicians to maximize their patients’ health-enhancing weight loss results
• Helped countless patients manage, reverse, and/or reduce medications for conditions like hypertension and type II diabetes
